Since we decided to stay, we could now go to The 63 Diner, which did not open until 11AM, and Clem had said we would "NOT hang around and wait just to eat at a diner!" Well, since we were hanging around waiting for the afternoon tour, we could go! It was so cute, with the waitresses in poodle skirts, memorabilia all over the walls and hanging from the ceiling, and surprisingly, great food! We shared a yummy strawberry ice cream soda that required fat straws to suck up the big chunks of strawberries, and the fries were absolutely the best I have ever eaten! We skipped dinner!
This evening we chatted with the folks in the Prevost next door. Though they are not rock stars after all, they are very nice folks, and are headed in the same direction we are. They gave us some tips on campgrounds and restaurants, we shared some laughs about life on the road, and told them about the Clydesdales. We just may meet them again along the way, as they are headed to Colorado, and we encouraged them to call when they get to Oregon.
What a fun, unplanned, unexpected day!

(note on stars.....Barbara Mandrell has stayed in this campground three times! Not Willie, though!)
