I had seen the extended forecast, and asked the kids to come for a bonfire on Friday because Saturday looked like a washout, and how right we were to reschedule! We had a BBQ dinner of kebobs and salt potatoes made with new reds, corn bread and green beans, followed by s'mores over a raging bonfire! Marcia found some a really cool little bag that they tossed into the fire which created great colors, and I had glow sticks for the girls, so we were bright and colorful in the dark, and well warmed by the flames. A game ensued of getting the glow necklace out of the tall tree, where it got tangled on a particularly high toss....not an easy task!

| Grace admires her Star Wars cake as she celebrates 7! |
This morning we met the family for brunch at a favorite local restaurant at a small airport nearby, where we celebrated Grace's actual birthday, and Clem's birthday, which is a week away.
I have been pouring over travel books and making lists , and we are trying to decide which route to take. Such a dilemma......there is just so much to see!! Having stocked the fridge this afternoon, we will ponder the decision again this evening, and hit the road tomorrow morning.

Lots of good stories today! Birthday wishes to Clem.
ReplyDeleteThat sounded like a really FULL day.....you're good at keeping up with those granddaughters, though. I wish you had taken pictures of the ice skating grandie.....and to think that was a repeat of your own experience in the same place!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY CLEM!
Fun! Fun! Fun! It must be almost Clem's birthday by now!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CLEM!!!
